After more than a year of development and rigorous testing, Marine Rescue Queensland is proud to announce the next major step in the rollout of ActivateMRQ, our new digital operations system.
The ActivateMRQ pilot program officially begins on 8 November and will run until February 2026. MRQ Victoria Point, MRQ Bundaberg, and MRQ Gladstone will be the first units to integrate ActivateMRQ into their daily operations and to ensure a smooth transition, experienced members who participated in ActivateMRQ User Acceptance Testing sessions, will be on-site at these units during busy activation days to provide additional support and guidance.
What is ActivateMRQ?
ActivateMRQ is MRQ’s new, digital operations system that replaces paper-based and other systems with a centralised, secure online platform for managing crews, activations, and reporting.
ActivateMRQ has the power to share data, provide real-time information, reduce duplication, and streamline the end-to-end activation process.
With ActivateMRQ, units will experience:
- easier crew and vessel scheduling
- faster access to operational data
- consistent processes across all units
- better visibility for Unit Leaders, Skippers, and State Coordination
- joined-up disaster and emergency response with other Queensland government agencies and responders.
This new system is designed to be practical, consistent, and easy to use — ensuring we’re better connected and ready to respond.
