Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) Noosa has a proud history of helping keep people safe across one of Queensland’s most popular boating regions.
Formerly Coast Guard Noosa QF5, the unit is based at Munna Point in Noosaville, with generations of volunteers supporting the local boating community on the Noosa River and surrounding coastal waters.
Our volunteers bring extensive local knowledge of the Noosa River, its lakes and the waters off the Sunshine Coast, including the unique conditions associated with crossing the Noosa Bar.
The unit provides marine rescue and assistance services, supports safer boating and maintains a strong connection with the local community.
The transition to Marine Rescue Queensland marks the beginning of a new chapter for the unit, while continuing the proud legacy established through decades of volunteer service.
As MRQ Noosa, our volunteers remain committed to helping residents and visitors enjoy the region’s waterways safely and being there when assistance is needed.
