MRQ Manly is based in Brisbane’s bayside community of Manly, supporting boaties across Moreton Bay and surrounding waterways.
The unit has a proud history of volunteer marine rescue spanning more than 50 years. Formerly the Brisbane Flotilla of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association, generations of volunteers have served the local boating community, building a strong legacy of maritime experience, teamwork and service.
On 18 September 2026, Coast Guard Brisbane transitioned to Marine Rescue Queensland, becoming MRQ Manly.
While the uniform and name have changed, the unit’s commitment to helping people on the water continues. MRQ Manly carries forward more than five decades of experience, knowledge and community service as part of Queensland’s statewide marine rescue service.
