Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ) will soon add another rescue unit to its growing service following a recent unanimous vote by Volunteer Marine Rescue Midge Point. 

A meet and greet event was held following the vote at the squadron, which gave volunteers an opportunity to complete their member application forms and try on and order their MRQ uniforms. 

MRQ already boasts units at Mackay, Gladstone, Currumbin, Victoria Point, Hervey Bay, Jacobs Well, Port Douglas, North Stradbroke and Bundaberg with many more to join the service in the coming months.   

VMR Midge Point is expected to become part of the MRQ family in July 2025.
